Construction
The EL4X Emergency Light series is contructed of reinforced polycarbonate in white or black housing. Corrosion-resistant enclosure with one piece, high impact resistant, UV stabilized polycarbonate lens and molded gasket with stainless steel screws. Tamper-proof hardware is available for unauthorized access to the unit.
Illumination
The EL4X Emergency Light series offers two fully adjustable, ultra bright 3.3W high performance MR-16 base LED lamp heads for optimized center to center spacing.
Emergency Operation
Upon failure of the normal utility power, an internal solidstate transfer switch automatically provides uninterrupted emergency operation for at least 90 minutes. The fully automatic solid-state, two-rate charger initiates recharging a discharged battery within 24 hours (36 hours on the 54W Models).
Battery - Battery Backup
The EL4X Emergency Light series is designed with a maintenance-free 6V/12V NiCad (15W Models) or 6V/12V maintenance-free sealed lead acid battery (36W and 54W Models) that provides a minimum emergency duration of 90 minutes. Recharge time of the battery is 24 hours.

Suggested mounting height of 7.5ft illuminates 1 footcandle (FC) spaced at 40ft for a 3ft path of egress.
Mounting height of 15ft illuminates 1 footcandle (FC) spaced at 26ft for a 3ft path of egress.
Disclosure:
Spacing is measured in lab condition with an assumed open space, no obstruction and reflection rates of 80 (ceiling) / 50 (walls) / 20 (floor). Actual spacing may vary depending on what environment the fixture is installed in.
Self-Testing Option
Unit will automatically perform NFPA required monthly and annual testing when Self-Testing + Battery Backup Operation is slected. Refer to user manual for details.
Remote Head Capable Option
The EL-4X emergency light offers remote head capability for all operation types. The remote head capability feature enables the EL-4X light to power up to two additional LED remote heads, which will operate in the same emergency mode as the standard units (see Emergency Operation Section). Without any remote heads connected, the 15W model can operate for 3 hours, the 36W model for 7.5 hours, and the 54W model for almost 10 hours. If remote heads are connected, the runtime for all models is reduced to 1.5 hours.
