The EL-HD6 emergency light can be ordered with 2 high-performance LED lamp heads or without lamp heads, depending on your specific requirements. Easily extend your lighting coverage by connecting compatible remote LED heads to the EL-HD6 unit. Construction
The EL-HD6 Industrial Emergency Light has an injection-molded, engineering-grade, 5VA flame retardant, high-impact thermoplastic construction housing.
Illumination
The EL-HD6 Emergency Light features ultra-bright, energy-efficient, long-life white LED lamp heads, delivering reliable illumination with up to 100-foot center-to-center spacing along a 6-foot-wide egress path when mounted at a 15-foot height. Each lamp head operates at 6.0 watts, utilizing 12 high-performance LEDs at 0.50 watts each. The adjustable, glare-free PAR-type lamp heads incorporate a fully integrated design, combining the lamp, reflector, and lens into a single, cohesive assembly for optimal performance and ease of use.
Emergency Operation
Upon failure of the normal utility power, an internal solidstate transfer switch automatically provides uninterrupted emergency operation for at least 90 minutes. The fully automatic solid-state, two-rate charger initiates battery charging to recharge a discharged battery in 24 hours.
Battery - Battery Backup
The EL-HD6 Emergency Light comes with maintenance-free 6V 12Ah rechargable sealed lead acid batteries. 50W units are equipped with two 6V batteries and 100W units are equipped with four 6V batteries.

Disclosure:
Spacing is measured in lab condition with an assumed open space, no obstruction and reflection rates of 80 (ceiling) / 50 (walls) / 20 (floor). Actual spacing may vary depending on what environment the fixture is installed in.
Remote Head Capable Option
This emergency lighting system provides 38W and 88W of remote capacity with a 6V DC output, available as standard on the 50W and 100W models. This feature allows for the connection of additional remote heads, making it easy to extend lighting coverage and illuminate dark or hard-to-reach areas, ensuring enhanced safety and visibility in emergency situations. The remote heads would then operate on the same emergency mode as the standard units (see Emergency Operation Section).
Electrical Components
The EL-HD6 Emergency Light is designed to support both 120V and 277V electrical configurations, ensuring flexible installation options. It includes a charge rate and power status LED indicator, along with a push-to-test switch for convenient compliance with mandatory code testing. A built-in low voltage disconnect (LVD) protects the battery from excessive discharge, enhancing its longevity. An internal solid-state transfer switch ensures a seamless connection to the lamp heads, delivering a minimum of 90 minutes of emergency illumination. Additionally, the fully automatic two-rate solid-state charger quickly restores a discharged battery within 24 hours, ensuring the system is always ready for use.
Installation
This emergency lighting system is designed for versatile installation, featuring knockouts on the back for convenient wall mounting. Additionally, side and top knockouts are provided to accommodate conduit feed applications, ensuring flexibility in various mounting and wiring configurations.
