Construction
The EL-M2 series is contructed from injection molded, impact- and scratch-resistant and corrosion-proof UL 94 V-0 flame retardant thermoplastic housing. White housing is standard.
Illumination
The battery backup and remote head capable series uses two 1.5W LED lamp heads each equipped with 12 series-parallel white LEDs. Lamp heads are on track-and-swivel guides. Glare-free lenses provide clear light source to ensure performance in emergency situations.
Emergency Operation
Upon failure of the normal utility power, an internal solidstate transfer switch automatically provides uninterrupted emergency operation for at least 90 minutes. The fully automatic solid-state, two-rate charger initiates battery charging to recharge a discharged battery in 24 hours.
Battery - Battery Backup
The EL-M2 Emergency Light series (Battery Backup Model) is designed with a maintenance-free 3.6V 1000mAh NiCad battery that provides a minimum emergency duration of 90 minutes. Remote Head capable unit is designed with a maintenance-free 3.6V 1800mAh Ni-Mh battery that provides 90 minute battery backup time (180 minute battery backup time if no remote heads are connected). Recharge time of the battery is 24 hours. Operational temperature range is 32°F (0°C) to 104°F (40°C).

Suggested mounting height of 7.5ft illuminates 1 footcandle (FC) spaced at 24ft for a 3ft path of egress.
Mounting height of 7.5ft illuminates 1 footcandle (FC) spaced at 18ft for a 6ft path of egress.
Disclosure:
Spacing is measured in lab condition with an assumed open space,
no obstruction and reflection rates of 80 (ceiling) / 50 (walls) / 20 (floor).
Actual spacing may vary depending on what environment the fixture is installed
in.
Remote Head Capable Option
The remote head capability option allows the EL-M2 unit to supply power to up to two additional LED remote heads. The remote heads would then operate on the same emergency mode as the standard units (see Emergency Operation Section).
Electrical Components
Dual voltage input 120/277 VAC operation. LED display indicates AC/ON. An external push button test switch allows maintenance personnel to quickly determine the operational status of the unit. Unit offers surge protected, solid state circuitry.
Installation
The EL-M2 is suitable for wall or ceiling installation via included mounting plate. Snap together design allows for quick and easy installation.

I noticed you sell EL-MW and EL-MW2 on your website, What is the difference in the units besides Price?

The EL-MW is a slightly smaller unit. It is described as "Compact" in comparison to the EL-MW2. Also, the EL-MW has 8 white LEDs in each lamp whereas the EL-MW2 has 12. So, the EL-MW2 has brighter illumination.

Operational temp 50-104 F. Can it not operate in freezing temps? Say outdoors under an overhanging roof that keeps it totally dry? If not what emergency light do you recommend?

Unfortunately we cannot guarantee proper function if conditions reach anything below or above the stated temperature range. Our ELCEL-WET as an internal battery heater option that allows for 15°F (-9°C) without running the risk of the battery freezing.

Can it be used exterior location but under roofed passageway that never gets wet? Rarely temp of 25 F but mostly between 35 to 80F.

The standard unit does not. However, the Remote Head capable version of this light does. That feature can be selected under Operation Type.

This is the "high output" model, but within the options there's another "high output" option. What's the difference between the non-"high output" option and the "high output" option on this already "high output" model?

The standard EL-M2 unit runs on a nicad battery and is a high output LED fixture featuring 72 lumens per head. The EL-M2-HO variant runs off of SLA battery and features 700 lumens total.

LEDs on these are the 2835 SMD
We do not have the color temperature of these bulbs, but this information can be found in an online search.
